Run With Rotary Beneficiaries
Each year since 1990 the Rotary Club of Montgomery Rocky Hill Club Foundation has donated thousands of dollars to many worthwhile charitable causes. Last year the Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Club Foundation contributed $50,000 in providing the local community, national and international relief support such as:
- Local families in need and support organizations
- Montgomery Food Pantry
- Indonesian/Thailand Tsunami relief efforts
- Pakistan Earthquake relief efforts
- Central American water improvement projects
- Polio Plus – the international eradication campaign of Polio
- The Hillsborough Food Bank
- Hurricane Katrina relief efforts
- The Community Development Award program
- Selected Montgomery High School seniors (scholarships)
The Rotary Club of Montgomery Rocky Hill participates in a private/public partnership that supports the Montgomery Township Food Pantry. In addition to providing aid to local area residents, the Pantry helps support the Hillsborough and Somerset County food banks which have generously donated food and non-food household supplies to township residents in the past.
Make a Donation - Help Feed Others
The 2010 RUN WITH ROTARY will again sponsor a collection to benefit the Food Pantry of Montgomery Rocky Hill and the Food Bank Network of Somerset County. The Food Pantry is a non-profit public private partnership available directly to those in need. “A specially marked collection area will be provided. Runner’s donations are important and can help the less fortunate. Each year we are grateful that participants bring more to share with those less fortunate.”
The Food Bank at this time needs personal items (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc.), canned goods (fruit, soup, vegetables), items in plastic or glass jars (peanut butter, jelly, condiments, vegetables, tuna, jams) and boxed foods (cereals, instant potatoes, etc.) “Peanut butter and jelly is the staple food of the Food Bank, but all types of donations are gratefully accepted.”
